El sueño de una noche de verano
Sueño de una noche de verano (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) es una comedia escrita por William Shakespeare alrededor de 1595. Está considerada como uno de los grandes clásicos de la literatura teatral mundial. Al parecer fue escrita con motivo de la conmemoración de la boda de Sir Thomas Berkeley y Elizabeth Carey, en febrero de 1596.
Felix Mendelssohn escribió una obertura y otras piezas musicales inspirado en esta obra que se utilizaron como acompañamiento musical de la obra a lo largo del siglo XIX. Ya en el siglo XX, en 1960, Benjamin Britten compuso una ópera sobre el mismo tema con libreto del propio Britten y del tenor Peter Pears. La obra teatral ha sido adaptada en numerosas ocasiones al cine y su influencia ha sido notable en la cultura anglosajona.

Argumento
Durante la boda de Teseo e Hipólita tiene lugar una obra plagada de fantasía, sueños, amor y magia que se entremezclan en las historias de amor dos parejas nobles, de unos cómicos despreocupados y un grupo de miembros del mundo de las hadas.

The dream of a summer night
Dream of a Summer Night (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) is a comedy written by William Shakespeare around 1595 . It is considered one of the great classics of world dramatic literature. Apparently it was written to commemorate the wedding of Sir Thomas Berkeley and Elizabeth Carey in February 1596.
Felix Mendelssohn wrote an overture and other musical pieces inspired by this work were used as musical accompaniment of the work throughout the nineteenth century . In the twentieth century, in 1960, Benjamin Britten composed an opera on the same subject with own libretto by Britten and the tenor Peter Pears . The play has been adapted many times to film and its influence has been notable in the Anglo-Saxon culture.

Plot
During the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta a work fraught with fantasy, dreams, love and magic are intertwined love stories in two noble partners, unconcerned about a group of comedians and members of the fairy world takes place.
